Emergency First Aid at Work Course

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to meet the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace. The Emergency First Aid at Work now requires, in line with the First Aid at Work (FAW), be provided and certificated by an approved HSE First Aid organisation. This course will provide an Emergency First Aider the skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services. The course is delivered in 6 contact hours.

Hands-on Skill Practice

Students will practice the skills in small groups and will apply these skills in scenario sessions during the course.

Course Duration

6 hours

 

Assessment

Students are assessed throughout the course by instructor observation of the essential skills. There is no summative assessment for this course.
